Rack, LLC is perfectly adjustable to fit any pickup with ordinary bedrails (does not fit step-side trucks and the Toyota Tacoma 2005). If you have a plastic insert bedliner, you will have to cut into it, to gain access to underside of bedrail. You supply either 2x4 or 2x6 lumber and cut to length. Using a 2x4 will make the rack 26.5" tall; use the 2x6 will make it 28.5" tall. This measurement is from the top of bedrail to the top of the wood. Stain or paint wood to your liking, assemble rack, and mount on truck. Standard cab height is 26.5"; 28.5" is for taller cabs, like the Ford SuperCrew, Dodging 2500 & 3500. Installs or removes from your pickup in 5 minutes without drilling. When taken off of truck, the rack can be used as a sawhorse or for storing watercraft on. Integrated clamping system snugs leg assemblies firmly to bedrails without use of stake pockets or extraneous hardware. Padded components help protect truck finish. Tie-down loops on each base can be used to anchor straps or rope. Rack is fabricated from sturdy powder-coated steel.

Good DealApr 02, 2008 This product well constructed and with good instructions for assembly. Great for hauling around a kayak or ladders.
Great affordable rack systemNov 25, 2007 Man I spent almost 2 months looking for an affordable ladder rack that won't put holes in the bed of my new truck and this one is great and very sturdy. You can use 2 x 4 if you wish but here is what I did to get a more professional look. I visited lowes got a the 1 inch square steel bars that were pre-cut at 6 feet and use them to make my own solid crossbars.I bolted the steel to the lil flaps you see at the top of the rack, with 3/8 2 1/2 steel nuts and bolts. Paint the bars black and noone can tell the difference. The same rack with a steel bar cost $350, but at $22 per bar at lowes you can't beat the savings doing it yourself. The clamping system is very sturdy. Only thing that concerns my is from the base, the upright bars are held in place with metal clips that snap in place. They should have used bolts, but if you good with hand tools its easy to remove the clips and run a 3 inch blot to lock in the bases...I only carry one ladder so I did not do that part.
