Telescoping paddleJul 09, 2008 Bought this as an emergency paddle for a small sailboat. Haven't had to use it yet--no emergencies--but its small size, light weight & adjustability make it perfect for the purpose. It can be 3 different lengths--stores easily, too. Probably a little flimsy for regular use--but that's not what it's for.

Kwick Tek Kayak Paddle 3 Section AluminumJul 08, 2008 The plastic pieces that connect the three aluminum shaft pieces are very easily broken. My first outing at the beach I broke one of them. I replaced it with some PVC piping and duct tape but I could no longer take it apart. During my second outing to the beach nothing broke but there was noticeable deformation to the paddle. On my third outing the other connector piece broke and the paddle ended up in my trash can. It is easy to use and handy in an emergency but I would not recommend it for any other use since it is so likely to break or deform.

great for an emergency paddleMay 03, 2008 I bought this to carry as an emergency paddle in conditions where my expensive carbon paddle might be damaged or lost.
It assembled easily and it can be broken down into a few small pieces which are easily stored in the 15"x12" hatch of my kayak leaving room for other gear.
